ABSTRACT: This study examines the influence of early childhood education on dietary diversity among young children. Early exposure to dietary diversity concepts can promote balanced nutrition and healthy eating habits. Objectives included evaluating children's dietary diversity, identifying effective educational practices, and assessing the long-term impacts of early dietary diversity education. A survey design was utilized for its effectiveness in gathering broad data. Purposive sampling was employed to select 200 children from preschools in Bayelsa State, Nigeria. Findings indicated that children exposed to dietary diversity education demonstrated greater acceptance and consumption of diverse foods. Effective practices included interactive lessons on food variety, hands-on cooking activities with diverse ingredients, and exposure to culturally diverse foods. The study recommended incorporating dietary diversity education into early childhood curricula to promote balanced nutrition and healthy eating habits from an early age.
