ABSTRACT: This research explores the role of early childhood education in promoting nutrition literacy among young children. Educating children about nutrition early can lead to lifelong healthy eating behaviors and informed food choices. Objectives included evaluating children's nutrition literacy, identifying effective educational practices, and assessing the long-term benefits of early nutrition education. A survey design was chosen for its ability to gather comprehensive data. Purposive sampling was employed to select 180 children from preschools in Ekiti State, Nigeria. Findings revealed that children exposed to nutrition literacy education demonstrated better understanding and practice of nutrition principles. Effective practices included interactive lessons on food groups, hands-on activities related to healthy eating, and involvement in nutrition-focused projects. The study recommended integrating nutrition literacy education into early childhood curricula to promote informed food choices and healthy eating habits from an early age.
