ABSTRACT: This study explores the benefits of early childhood education in fostering environmental activism among young children. Early childhood education can play a pivotal role in developing a sense of environmental responsibility and activism. The objectives of this research were to assess the extent to which early childhood education influences environmental activism, identify effective teaching practices that promote activism, and evaluate the long-term impacts of early environmental education. A survey design was utilized to gather comprehensive data, justified by its ability to capture diverse perspectives and experiences. Purposive sampling was employed to select 200 children from preschools in Lagos State, Nigeria. Findings indicated that children who received environmental education demonstrated a higher propensity for activism, such as participating in clean-up activities and advocating for environmental protection. Effective practices included interactive lessons, hands-on environmental projects, and guided discussions on environmental issues. The study recommended integrating these practices into early childhood education curricula to foster environmental activism from an early age.
