ABSTRACT: This study investigates the impact of early childhood education on young children's understanding of global warming. Educating children about global warming early can foster environmentally responsible behaviors. Objectives included evaluating children's knowledge of global warming, identifying effective educational practices, and assessing the long-term benefits of early global warming education. A survey design was utilized for its effectiveness in gathering broad data. Purposive sampling was employed to select 180 children from preschools in Gombe State, Nigeria. Findings revealed that children exposed to global warming education demonstrated a greater understanding of global warming and its impacts. Activities such as interactive lessons on climate science, hands-on experiments, and community projects were particularly effective. The study recommended integrating global warming education into early childhood curricula to enhance understanding and mitigation of global warming from an early age.
