ABSTRACT: This study examines the role of early childhood education in promoting energy efficiency among young children. Teaching energy efficiency early can lead to lifelong sustainable behaviors. Objectives included evaluating children's understanding of energy efficiency, identifying effective educational practices, and assessing the long-term benefits of early energy efficiency education. A survey design was utilized for its effectiveness in gathering broad data. Purposive sampling was employed to select 180 children from preschools in Delta State, Nigeria. Findings revealed that children exposed to energy efficiency education demonstrated improved behaviors in conserving energy. Activities such as interactive lessons on energy-saving practices, hands-on projects, and community initiatives were particularly effective. The study recommended integrating energy efficiency education into early childhood curricula to foster energy-saving behaviors from an early age.
