ABSTRACT: This research investigates the role of early childhood education in developing sustainable living habits among young children. Early exposure to sustainable practices can lead to lifelong habits. The objectives were to assess children's sustainable living habits, identify effective educational practices, and evaluate the long-term impacts of early sustainability education. A survey design was chosen for its efficiency in gathering detailed data. Purposive sampling was used to select 200 children from preschools in Enugu State, Nigeria. Findings indicated that children exposed to sustainability education demonstrated better habits in areas such as waste reduction, energy conservation, and sustainable consumption. Effective practices included hands-on sustainability projects, interactive lessons on eco-friendly practices, and community involvement activities. The study recommended integrating sustainability education into early childhood programs to develop sustainable living habits from an early age.
