ABSTRACT: This research examines the benefits of early childhood education in fostering a connection to nature among young children. Establishing a bond with nature early on can lead to lifelong environmental stewardship. The objectives were to assess the degree of children's connection to nature, identify effective practices that enhance this connection, and evaluate the long-term impacts of nature-focused education. A survey design was chosen for its capacity to gather detailed data. Purposive sampling was used to select 200 children from preschools in Oyo State, Nigeria. Findings indicated that children exposed to nature education demonstrated stronger connections to the natural environment. Activities such as outdoor play, nature walks, and gardening were particularly effective. The study recommended incorporating more nature-based activities into early childhood education curricula to foster a deeper connection to nature from an early age.
