ABSTRACT: The influence of early childhood education on global citizenship was investigated to understand how early educational experiences promote global awareness and responsibility. Objectives were to evaluate the level of global citizenship understanding, identify effective educational practices, and assess the long-term benefits of global education. A survey design was chosen for its ability to collect comprehensive data from a broad demographic. Purposive sampling was used to select 200 children from preschools in Benue State, Nigeria. Findings indicated that children exposed to global citizenship education demonstrated higher awareness and responsibility towards global issues, with activities like global awareness projects, interactive lessons on global cultures, and participation in global events being particularly effective. The study recommended integrating global citizenship education into early childhood curricula to foster responsible global citizens from an early age.
