ABSTRACT: This study explored the role of early childhood education in promoting positive body image among young children. The objectives were to assess body image perceptions among preschoolers, identify educational practices that encourage positive body image, and evaluate the long-term impacts of these practices. A survey design was chosen for its ability to gather broad data efficiently. Using purposive sampling, 180 children from preschools in Oyo State, Nigeria, were selected. Findings revealed that children exposed to body positivity curricula exhibited healthier body image perceptions, with activities like body appreciation exercises, positive reinforcement, and diverse representation in learning materials being particularly impactful. It was recommended that early childhood education programs incorporate these activities to promote positive body image from an early age.
