ABSTRACT: This research examined the impact of early childhood education on hygiene practices among young children. The objectives were to evaluate the level of hygiene practices, identify effective educational practices, and assess the long-term benefits of early hygiene education. A survey design was employed, justified by its ability to gather detailed data from diverse respondents. Purposive sampling was used to select 220 children from preschools in Ekiti State, Nigeria. Findings indicated that children exposed to hygiene education programs had better hygiene practices, characterized by regular handwashing, proper toilet use, and overall cleanliness. Activities such as hygiene demonstrations, interactive lessons, and hygiene-themed games were particularly effective. The study recommended that early childhood education programs incorporate comprehensive hygiene education to promote healthy hygiene habits from an early age.
