ABSTRACT: This research investigated the influence of early childhood education on safety awareness among young children. The objectives were to evaluate the level of safety awareness, identify effective educational practices, and assess the long-term benefits of early safety education. A survey design was used, justified by its efficiency in gathering comprehensive data from varied respondents. Purposive sampling was used to select 180 children from preschools in Bauchi State, Nigeria. Findings indicated that children exposed to safety education programs had higher safety awareness, characterized by better knowledge of safety rules, emergency procedures, and hazard recognition. Activities such as safety drills, interactive safety lessons, and role-playing scenarios were particularly effective. The study recommended that early childhood education programs incorporate safety education to promote awareness and preparedness from an early age.
