ABSTRACT: This research focused on the influence of early childhood education on the development of gratitude in young children. The primary objectives were to determine the levels of gratitude among children in early education programs, identify educational practices that cultivate gratitude, and examine the long-term effects of gratitude on personal and social development. A survey design was chosen for its ability to collect comprehensive data from a diverse population. A purposive sampling technique was used to select 180 children from preschools in Kaduna State, Nigeria, ensuring that participants had been enrolled in structured educational programs. The findings revealed that early childhood education positively influenced the development of gratitude, with practices such as gratitude journals, thank-you notes, and community service activities being particularly impactful. The study recommended that early childhood education programs integrate gratitude-focused activities into their curricula to foster an attitude of thankfulness from a young age.
