ABSTRACT: This study explored the topic of early childhood education and its role in enhancing adaptability among young children. The primary objectives were to determine the extent to which early childhood education programs develop adaptability skills, identify key educational practices that promote adaptability, and evaluate the long-term effects of early adaptability skills on later life stages. A survey design was employed, justified by its capacity to collect comprehensive and diverse data from a large population efficiently. The sample size consisted of 300 preschool children, selected using a purposive sampling technique to ensure the inclusion of participants who had been enrolled in structured early education programs. The case study was focused on preschool institutions in Lagos State, Nigeria. Findings revealed that early childhood education significantly contributed to the development of adaptability skills, with structured and interactive learning environments being particularly effective. The long-term benefits of these adaptability skills included better coping mechanisms and academic performance in later years. It was recommended that early childhood education programs incorporate more activities that challenge children to adapt to new situations and encourage flexible thinking.
