ABSTRACT: Early childhood education (ECE) significantly influences the development of honesty among young children, which is crucial for their moral and social development. This study examines how ECE programs foster honesty in early childhood settings. The objectives are to (1) assess the development of honesty in children attending ECE programs, (2) evaluate the effectiveness of honesty-promoting activities in ECE settings, and (3) compare the honesty levels of children who attend ECE programs with those who do not. A survey design was employed to gather quantitative data on honesty development and qualitative insights from educators and parents. A purposive sample of 120 children  from preschools in Plateau State was selected. The case study focuses on preschools known for their honesty-promoting initiatives. Findings revealed that children in ECE programs exhibited higher levels of honesty compared to those not in such programs. Honesty-promoting activities were found to be particularly effective. Recommendations include integrating honesty-focused activities into ECE curricula and supporting educators in fostering honesty among young children.
