ABSTRACT: Early childhood education (ECE) plays a vital role in shaping ethical behavior among young children, which is essential for their moral and social development. This study investigates how ECE programs influence the development of ethical behavior. The objectives are to (1) assess the ethical behavior of children in ECE programs, (2) evaluate the impact of ethics-focused activities in ECE settings, and (3) compare the ethical behavior of children who attend ECE programs with those who do not. A survey design was chosen to collect quantitative data on ethical behavior and qualitative insights from teachers and parents. A purposive sample of 130 children  from preschools in Cross River State was selected. The case study focuses on preschools with comprehensive ethics-focused programs. Findings indicated that children attending ECE programs exhibited higher levels of ethical behavior compared to those not in such programs. Ethics-focused activities were highly effective. Recommendations include integrating structured ethics activities into ECE curricula and providing resources for educators to effectively teach ethical behavior.
