ABSTRACT: This study explores the benefits of early childhood education (ECE) in reducing bullying behaviors among young children, crucial for creating safe and supportive learning environments. The objectives are to (1) assess the prevalence of bullying incidents in ECE settings, (2) evaluate the effectiveness of anti-bullying strategies integrated into ECE curricula, and (3) examine changes in bullying behaviors influenced by ECE participation. A survey design is justified to collect quantitative data on bullying incidents and qualitative insights into bullying prevention strategies. A purposive sample of 140 children from preschools in Edo State was selected. The case study focuses on preschools recognized for their successful anti-bullying initiatives. Findings indicated a decrease in bullying incidents, effective implementation of anti-bullying programs, and positive changes in children's behavior towards peers due to ECE participation. Recommendations include enhancing bullying prevention efforts in ECE settings, promoting empathy and respect among children, and providing training for educators in identifying and addressing bullying behaviors early.
