ABSTRACT: This study examines the crucial role of early childhood education (ECE) in supporting single parents and enhancing their parenting capabilities. Single parenthood presents unique challenges that can impact children's well-being and development. The objectives are to (1) assess the support systems provided by ECE programs for single parents, (2) evaluate the effectiveness of ECE in enhancing single parents' parenting skills, and (3) examine changes in parental stress levels and self-efficacy. A survey design is employed to gather data on support services and parental perceptions. A purposive sample of 130 single parents with children  from preschools in Bayelsa State was selected. The case study focuses on preschools known for their inclusive support for single-parent families. Findings indicated increased support for single parents, enhanced parenting skills, reduced parental stress, and improved self-efficacy due to ECE participation. Recommendations include expanding access to ECE programs for single-parent families, providing tailored support services, and fostering a supportive community environment for single parents and their children.
