ABSTRACT: The role of early childhood education (ECE) in lifelong learning is fundamental for laying the foundation of continuous education and skill development throughout one's life. This study examines how ECE programs influence lifelong learning behaviors in young children. The objectives are to (1) assess the impact of ECE on children's attitudes towards learning, (2) evaluate the integration of lifelong learning skills in ECE curricula, and (3) examine changes in children's motivation and self-directed learning abilities. A survey design is employed to gather comprehensive data on the role of ECE in promoting lifelong learning. A purposive sample of 140 children  from preschools in Abuja was used. The case study focuses on preschools recognized for their innovative approaches to lifelong learning. Findings revealed significant improvements in children's attitudes towards learning, effective integration of lifelong learning skills, and enhanced motivation for continuous learning. Recommendations include embedding lifelong learning principles into ECE curricula and providing professional development for educators to foster a culture of lifelong learning in early childhood settings.
