ABSTRACT: The role of early childhood education in digital literacy is critical for understanding how early educational experiences prepare children for the digital world. This study explores how early childhood education programs influence the development of digital literacy in young children. The objectives are to (1) assess improvements in children's ability to use digital tools and resources, (2) evaluate the integration of digital literacy activities in early childhood education curricula, and (3) examine changes in children's digital skills and confidence. A survey design is employed to gather comprehensive data on the role of early childhood education in digital literacy. A purposive sample of 120 children from preschools in Ekiti State was used. The case study focuses on a preschool renowned for its digital literacy program. Findings revealed significant improvements in children's ability to use digital tools and resources, the effectiveness of digital literacy activities, and positive changes in children's digital skills and confidence. Recommendations included integrating digital literacy activities into early childhood curricula and providing ongoing professional development for educators to enhance children's digital literacy skills.
