ABSTRACT: The role of early childhood education in developing spatial skills is vital for understanding how early educational experiences shape children's ability to perceive and manipulate spatial relationships. This study explores how early childhood education programs influence the development of spatial skills. The objectives are to (1) assess improvements in children's spatial reasoning and visualization abilities, (2) evaluate the integration of spatial skill activities in early childhood education curricula, and (3) examine changes in children's problem-solving and navigation skills. A survey design is employed to gather comprehensive data on the role of early childhood education in developing spatial skills. A purposive sample of 120 children  from preschools in Kwara State was used. The case study focuses on a preschool renowned for its spatial skills development program. Findings revealed significant improvements in children's spatial reasoning and visualization abilities, the effectiveness of spatial skill activities, and positive changes in children's problem-solving and navigation skills. Recommendations included integrating spatial skill activities into early childhood curricula and providing ongoing professional development for educators to enhance children's spatial skills.
