ABSTRACT: The benefits of play-based learning in early childhood education are essential for understanding how play influences children's development and learning. This study explores the advantages of play-based learning in early childhood education programs. The objectives are to (1) assess improvements in children's cognitive, social, and emotional skills, (2) evaluate the integration of play-based activities in early childhood education curricula, and (3) examine changes in children's engagement and learning outcomes. A survey design is employed to collect comprehensive data on the benefits of play-based learning. A purposive sample of 130 children  from preschools in Ogun State was used. The case study focuses on a preschool renowned for its play-based learning approach. Findings revealed significant improvements in children's cognitive, social, and emotional skills, the effectiveness of play-based activities, and positive changes in children's engagement and learning outcomes. Recommendations included integrating play-based activities into early childhood curricula and providing ongoing professional development for educators to enhance the implementation of play-based learning.
