ABSTRACT: Early childhood education's impact on cognitive flexibility is essential for understanding how early educational experiences shape children's ability to adapt to new situations and think creatively. This study examines how early childhood education programs influence cognitive flexibility. The objectives are to (1) assess improvements in children's cognitive flexibility and adaptability, (2) evaluate the integration of cognitive flexibility activities in early childhood education curricula, and (3) examine changes in problem-solving and academic performance. A survey design is employed to systematically collect data on the impacts of early childhood education on cognitive flexibility. A purposive sample of 100 children aged 4-6 years from preschools in Rivers State was used. The case study focuses on a preschool known for its cognitive development programs. Findings revealed significant improvements in children's cognitive flexibility and adaptability, the effectiveness of cognitive flexibility activities, and positive changes in problem-solving and academic performance. Recommendations included integrating cognitive flexibility activities into early childhood curricula and providing ongoing professional development for educators to support children's cognitive development.
