ABSTRACT: The benefits of early childhood education in promoting environmental sustainability are crucial for fostering environmentally responsible behavior from a young age. This study aimed to evaluate how early childhood education programs influence children's understanding and practice of environmental sustainability. The objectives were to (1) assess improvements in children's knowledge of environmental issues, (2) evaluate the integration of sustainability activities in the curriculum, and (3) examine changes in children's behavior towards environmental protection. A survey design was employed to gather comprehensive data from participants, providing a broad assessment of the topic. A purposive sample of 110 children aged 4-6 years, engaged in environmental education programs, was selected to ensure relevant experiences. The case study focused on an early childhood education center in Ekiti State, known for its environmental education initiatives. Findings indicated significant improvements in children's knowledge of environmental issues, the effectiveness of sustainability activities, and positive changes in behavior towards environmental protection. The study recommended integrating environmental sustainability education into early childhood curricula and providing training for educators to effectively teach these practices.
