ABSTRACT: Exploring the role of early childhood education in teaching financial literacy is essential for fostering financial responsibility from a young age. This study aimed to evaluate how early childhood education programs incorporate financial literacy and its impact on children's understanding of financial concepts. The objectives were to (1) assess improvements in basic financial knowledge, (2) evaluate the role of interactive and practical teaching methods, and (3) examine the long-term benefits of early financial education. A survey design was chosen to systematically collect data from participants. A purposive sample of 120 children aged 4-6 years, who received financial literacy education, was selected from an early childhood education center in Delta State. Findings indicated significant improvements in basic financial knowledge, the effectiveness of interactive and practical teaching methods, and long-term benefits such as improved financial responsibility. Recommendations included integrating financial literacy into early childhood curricula and providing training for educators to effectively teach financial concepts.
