ABSTRACT: Assessing the benefits of early childhood coding programs on cognitive development is crucial for understanding their impact on young minds. This study aimed to evaluate how coding programs influence cognitive abilities in early childhood. The objectives were to (1) assess improvements in problem-solving skills, (2) evaluate enhancements in logical thinking and reasoning, and (3) examine the role of coding in fostering creativity. A survey design was chosen to collect detailed data from participants. A purposive sample of 130 children aged 4-6 years, who participated in coding programs, was selected from an early childhood education center in Ogun State. Findings revealed significant improvements in problem-solving skills, enhanced logical thinking and reasoning, and increased creativity. The study recommended integrating coding programs into early childhood curricula and providing training for educators to effectively teach coding to young children.
