ABSTRACT: Assessing the impact of early childhood meditation programs on concentration levels is essential for understanding their benefits on young children’s cognitive development. This study aimed to evaluate how meditation programs influence concentration and attention span in early childhood. The objectives were to (1) assess improvements in sustained attention, (2) evaluate the reduction of distractibility, and (3) examine the role of meditation in enhancing overall cognitive function. A survey design was employed to systematically collect data from participants. A purposive sample of 130 children aged 4-6 years, who participated in meditation sessions, was selected from a prominent early childhood education center in Abuja. Findings indicated notable improvements in sustained attention, reduced distractibility, and enhanced cognitive function. Recommendations included incorporating meditation practices into early childhood education programs and providing specialized training for educators to implement these practices effectively.
