ABSTRACT: Investigating the benefits of early childhood dance programs on motor skills development provides valuable insights into child development. This study aimed to assess the impact of dance programs on enhancing motor skills in young children. The objectives were to (1) evaluate improvements in fine and gross motor skills, (2) assess the role of dance in developing coordination and balance, and (3) examine the overall physical benefits of dance activities. A survey design was chosen for its ability to gather comprehensive data from diverse participants. A purposive sample of 120 children aged 3-5 years, actively engaged in structured dance programs, was selected from an early childhood education center in Enugu State. Findings revealed significant improvements in fine and gross motor skills, better coordination and balance, and overall physical fitness benefits. The study recommended integrating dance programs into early childhood curricula and training educators to effectively facilitate these activities.
