ABSTRACT: This study investigated the Role of Early Childhood Education in Fostering Religious Tolerance. The objectives of this study were to: (1) explore the role of early childhood education (ECE) in fostering religious tolerance among young children, (2) assess the effectiveness of multicultural education activities in promoting respect and understanding of diverse religious beliefs, and (3) determine the long-term benefits of religious tolerance education on social cohesion and community integration. A survey research design was employed to gather comprehensive data from educators, parents, and religious leaders about their experiences with religious tolerance education in ECE settings. A sample size of 170 participants, including preschool teachers, parents, and religious representatives, was selected using purposive sampling to ensure representation from diverse religious communities in Bauchi State, Nigeria. The case study was conducted in early childhood education centers known for their inclusive educational practices and emphasis on moral education. Findings revealed that ECE programs significantly enhanced children's understanding and acceptance of diverse religious beliefs, promoting tolerance and mutual respect. It is recommended that early childhood education centers continue to integrate religious tolerance education into their curricula, provide cultural sensitivity training for educators, and engage religious communities in promoting interfaith dialogue and cooperation.
