ABSTRACT: This study examining the Role of Early Childhood Education in Enhancing Cultural Awareness. The objectives of this study were to: (1) evaluate the role of early childhood education (ECE) in fostering cultural awareness among young children, (2) assess the effectiveness of multicultural education activities in promoting tolerance and understanding, and (3) determine the long-term benefits of cultural awareness education on social cohesion. A survey research design was employed to gather comprehensive data from educators, parents, and children about their experiences with cultural awareness education in ECE settings. A sample size of 170 participants, including preschool teachers, parents, and children aged 4-6, was selected using purposive sampling to ensure diversity in cultural backgrounds. The case study was conducted in early childhood education centers in Rivers State, Nigeria, known for their multicultural population and inclusive educational practices. Findings indicated that ECE programs significantly enhanced children's cultural awareness, promoting tolerance and respect for diverse cultures. It is recommended that early childhood education centers continue to prioritize multicultural education and incorporate culturally relevant materials and activities into their curricula to foster inclusive learning environments.
