ABSTRACT: This study examined the Effects of Early Childhood Education on Civic Engagement in Diverse Communities. The objectives of this study were to: (1) evaluate the role of early childhood education (ECE) in promoting civic engagement among young children, (2) assess the impact of community-based activities on fostering civic responsibility, and (3) determine the long-term benefits of early civic education on social participation. A survey design was employed to gather comprehensive data from educators, parents, and children about their experiences with civic engagement in ECE settings. A sample size of 170 participants, including preschool teachers, parents, and children aged 4-6, was selected using purposive sampling. The case study was conducted in early childhood education centers in Lagos State, Nigeria, known for its cultural diversity and active promotion of civic education. Findings revealed that ECE programs significantly improved children's civic engagement and responsibility in diverse communities. It was recommended that early childhood education centers incorporate civic education into their curricula and provide training for educators to effectively teach civic responsibility.
