ABSTRACT: This study Explored the Role of Early Childhood Education in Preventing Juvenile Delinquency. The objectives of this study were to: (1) evaluate the effectiveness of early childhood education (ECE) in reducing risk factors associated with juvenile delinquency, (2) assess the role of ECE programs in promoting positive social behaviors, and (3) determine the long-term benefits of early intervention on delinquency rates. A survey design was employed to gather comprehensive data from educators, parents, and children about their experiences and observations regarding the impact of ECE on delinquency prevention. A sample size of 180 participants, including preschool teachers, parents, and children aged 4-6, was selected through purposive sampling. The case study was conducted in early childhood education centers in Lagos State, Nigeria, known for its diverse population and focus on early intervention programs. Findings revealed that ECE programs significantly reduced risk factors associated with juvenile delinquency and promoted positive social behaviors, leading to lower delinquency rates in the long term. It was recommended that early childhood education centers implement comprehensive early intervention programs and provide training for educators to effectively support delinquency prevention.
