ABSTRACT: This study Explored the Effects of Early Childhood Education on Civic Responsibility. The objectives of this study were to: (1) evaluate the role of early childhood education (ECE) in developing civic responsibility in young children, (2) assess the impact of community-based activities on civic engagement, and (3) determine the long-term benefits of early civic education on social participation. A survey design was justified for this research due to its ability to collect comprehensive data from a diverse group of educators, parents, and children, providing a broad perspective on the impact of ECE programs on civic responsibility. A sample size of 180 participants, including preschool teachers, parents, and children aged 4-6, was selected using purposive sampling. The case study was conducted in early childhood education centers in Lagos State, Nigeria, known for its active promotion of civic education. Findings revealed that ECE programs significantly improved children's civic responsibility and engagement in community activities. It was recommended that early childhood education centers incorporate civic education into their curricula and provide training for educators to effectively teach civic responsibility.
