ABSTRACT: This study investigated The Role of Early Childhood Education in Promoting Sustainable Consumption. The objectives of this study were to: (1) evaluate the effectiveness of early childhood education (ECE) in promoting sustainable consumption habits among young learners, (2) assess the impact of ECE programs on children's understanding of resource conservation, and (3) determine the long-term benefits of integrating sustainable consumption education into ECE curricula. A survey design was employed to gather comprehensive data from educators, parents, and children about their experiences with sustainable consumption education. A sample size of 170 participants, including preschool teachers, parents, and children aged 4-6, was selected through purposive sampling. The case study was conducted in early childhood education centers in Oyo State, Nigeria, given its active involvement in environmental education. Findings revealed that ECE programs significantly improved children's understanding of resource conservation and promoted sustainable consumption habits. Long-term benefits included a greater commitment to sustainable practices. It was recommended that early childhood education centers incorporate sustainable consumption education into their curricula and provide training for educators to effectively teach these concepts.
