ABSTRACT: This study Assessed the Benefits of Early Childhood Sports Programs on Physical Development. The objectives of this study were to: (1) evaluate the impact of sports programs on physical development in early childhood, (2) assess the role of structured physical activities in enhancing motor skills, and (3) determine the long-term benefits of early sports participation on health and fitness. A survey design was chosen for this research to collect detailed data from educators, parents, and children about their experiences with sports programs in early childhood education (ECE). A sample size of 160 participants, including preschool teachers, parents, and children aged 4-6, was selected using purposive sampling. The case study was conducted in early childhood education centers in Delta State, Nigeria, known for its active promotion of sports and physical education. Findings indicated that sports programs significantly improved physical development and motor skills, with long-term benefits on health and fitness. It was recommended that early childhood education centers integrate sports programs into their curricula and provide training for educators to effectively facilitate physical activities.
