ABSTRACT: This research examined the benefits of animal-assisted therapy (AAT) in early childhood education. The objectives were to: (1) evaluate the impact of AAT on children's social skills, (2) assess the role of AAT in reducing anxiety and behavioral issues, and (3) determine the effectiveness of AAT in enhancing emotional regulation. A survey design was employed to collect detailed information from educators, parents, and therapy providers about their experiences with AAT. A sample size of 150 preschool educators and parents was selected through purposive sampling. The case study was conducted in early childhood education centers in Abuja, Nigeria. Findings indicated that AAT significantly improved social skills, reduced anxiety, and behavioral issues, and enhanced emotional regulation in young children. It was recommended that early childhood education programs incorporate AAT and provide training for educators to effectively implement these interventions.
