ABSTRACT: This research examined the impact of early childhood education on social mobility. The objectives were to: (1) evaluate the role of early education in breaking the cycle of poverty, (2) assess the long-term benefits of early childhood education on career opportunities, and (3) determine the influence of early education on socio-economic status. A survey design was chosen to collect comprehensive data from adults who had received early childhood education and those who had not. A sample size of 220 adults was selected through purposive sampling. The case study was conducted in Kaduna State, Nigeria. Findings revealed that early childhood education played a crucial role in breaking the cycle of poverty and provided significant long-term benefits in terms of career opportunities and socio-economic status. It was recommended that policies prioritize investment in early childhood education to enhance social mobility and that programs be designed to provide equitable access to high-quality early education for all children.
