ABSTRACT: This study examined the effects of socioeconomic inequality on early childhood educational outcomes. The objectives were to: (1) evaluate the correlation between family income levels and children's academic performance, (2) assess the impact of parental education on early learning achievements, and (3) explore the role of access to educational resources in mitigating the effects of socioeconomic disparities. A survey design was employed to gather comprehensive data from a wide range of participants, ensuring an in-depth understanding of the relationship between socioeconomic factors and educational outcomes. A sample size of 200 parents and educators from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds was selected using purposive sampling. The case study focused on early childhood education centers in Lagos State, Nigeria. Findings indicated that children from higher-income families and those with educated parents performed significantly better academically. Access to quality educational resources was found to mitigate some negative effects of socioeconomic inequality. It was recommended that policies aimed at reducing educational disparities focus on providing equitable access to resources and support programs for low-income families to enhance early childhood educational outcomes.
