Abstract: This study explores the link between early childhood education (ECE) experiences and the development of executive function skills in Nigerian children. The objective is to investigate how ECE programs enhance cognitive processes such as working memory, self-regulation, and decision-making abilities crucial for academic success and life-long learning. A survey research design is employed to gather data from ECE educators, neuroscientists, and cognitive psychologists across Kaduna State. A purposive sample of 150 participants is selected based on their expertise in executive function development and educational practices. Findings reveal that structured activities, scaffolding techniques, and enriched learning environments in ECE settings positively influence executive function skills among young learners. Recommendations advocate for integrated executive function training in ECE curricula, professional development for educators, and collaborative research initiatives to optimize cognitive development outcomes in early childhood.
