Abstract: This research examines the impact of early childhood education (ECE) in fostering interest and readiness for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) careers among young children. The objective is to assess how early exposure to STEM education influences attitudes, skills development, and career aspirations. A survey research design is employed to collect data from 150 educators and parents in Anambra State, using purposive sampling to represent diverse educational backgrounds and perspectives on STEM education. Findings indicate that engaging children in hands-on STEM activities and inquiry-based learning from an early age cultivates critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and enthusiasm for STEM disciplines, laying a foundation for future career pathways in STEM fields. Recommendations include integrating STEM curricula in ECE settings, providing professional development for educators in STEM pedagogy, and fostering partnerships with STEM industries to bridge the gap between early education and career readiness.
