Abstract: This study examines the role of early childhood educators in promoting multicultural understanding and diversity appreciation among young children in Nigeria. Objectives include assessing educators' perspectives on cultural competence, exploring strategies for integrating multicultural education into the curriculum, and evaluating outcomes on children's attitudes towards diversity and inclusivity. Employing a survey research design, data will be collected from ECE educators, cultural experts, and parents in Delta State. The sample size of 200, calculated using Taro Yamane's formula, ensures robust representation and statistical validity. A case study approach will focus on ECE centers known for their multicultural education initiatives. The reliability coefficient score of 0.75 validate data reliability. Findings highlighted the importance of cultural competence in ECE, offering insights into effective practices for promoting diversity and inclusivity. Recommendations emphasized professional development for educators, curriculum adaptations to reflect cultural diversity, and community engagement to foster multicultural understanding in Nigerian early childhood education.
