Abstract: This study investigates the role of grandparents in early childhood education (ECE) within Nigerian families. The objectives are to explore grandparents' contributions to child development, educational support practices, and intergenerational learning experiences. Employing a qualitative survey research design, this study justifies its approach by gathering insights from grandparents, parents, and educators through interviews and focus groups. A purposive sample size of 200 participants ensures representation from diverse socio-economic backgrounds and geographic regions across Nigeria. Delta State is selected as the case study location due to its cultural significance of extended family networks and intergenerational support systems. The reliability coefficient score will ensure data validity and reliability in qualitative data analysis. Findings are expected to illuminate the diverse roles of grandparents in supporting early childhood education and inform culturally responsive educational practices that harness intergenerational knowledge and support for young children in Nigerian communities.
