Abstract: This study investigates the efficacy of storytelling as a pedagogical tool in early childhood education (ECE) within the Nigerian context. Drawing on theories of cognitive development and narrative engagement, the objective is to explore how storytelling enhances language acquisition, socio-emotional development, and cultural awareness among young learners. Employing a survey research design, this study justifies its approach by aiming to gather comprehensive insights from ECE practitioners across diverse settings in Nigeria. The purposive sample size of 200 educators is derived to ensure representation from urban and rural areas, thus enriching the study's applicability. Lagos State is selected as the case study location, given its diverse socio-economic demographics and educational infrastructure. The reliability coefficient score will be calculated to ensure robustness in data analysis. Findings are expected to highlight significant correlations between storytelling practices and developmental outcomes, offering recommendations for integrating effective storytelling techniques into ECE curricula nationwide.
