Abstract: This study explores the role of music and movement in early childhood development, aiming to understand how rhythmic activities enhance cognitive, motor, and social-emotional skills among young children in Kano State, Nigeria. The objective is to examine effective strategies for integrating music and movement into preschool curricula. Employing a qualitative research design, data is collected through observations, interviews with educators, and focus groups with parents. A purposive sampling approach is used to select participants to ensure diverse perspectives. A case study approach investigates a local preschool known for its innovative music and movement programs. Findings suggest that music and movement activities improve language development, coordination, and emotional regulation in early childhood. Recommendations emphasize incorporating diverse musical genres, providing training for educators in music pedagogy, and creating inclusive environments that promote creativity and self-expression through rhythmic experiences.
