Abstract: This study assesses the effectiveness of Montessori education in promoting holistic development and academic readiness among preschool-aged children in Delta State, Nigeria. The objective is to compare outcomes between Montessori and traditional educational approaches. Employing a quasi-experimental research design, quantitative data is collected from 300 children enrolled in Montessori and conventional preschools, along with surveys from educators and parents. Taro Yamane's formula is utilized to determine a representative sample size. A comparative case study examines academic performance, social skills, and parental satisfaction across both educational models. The reliability coefficient score ensures the consistency and accuracy of collected data. Findings suggest that Montessori education enhances independence, self-regulation, and critical thinking skills compared to traditional methods. Recommendations advocate for integrating Montessori principles into mainstream early childhood education, providing teacher training in Montessori methods, and educating parents about the benefits of child-centered learning approaches.
