Abstract: This research explores the implementation of social-emotional learning (SEL) programs in early childhood education to foster emotional intelligence and empathy among young children. The study aims to investigate effective strategies and their impact on social skills development in kindergarten and nursery settings across Enugu State, Nigeria. Using a survey research design, data is collected from 150 educators, psychologists, and parents. The sample size is determined using Taro Yamane's formula to ensure a representative sample. A case study approach examines a local school known for its comprehensive SEL curriculum. The reliability coefficient score ensures the validity and consistency of survey responses. Findings indicate that SEL interventions enhance children's ability to manage emotions, develop positive relationships, and exhibit empathetic behaviors. Recommendations emphasize integrating SEL into early childhood curriculum standards, providing professional development for educators, and involving parents in reinforcing SEL skills at home.
