ABSTRACT
This study examines THE ROLE OF INTERNATIONAL ACCOUNTANTS IN SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVES, focusing on integrating sustainability reporting, improving environmental accountability, and enhancing stakeholder communication. A survey methodology was adopted to collect comprehensive data from accounting professionals. Using Taro Yamane's formula, a sample size of 400 accountants from Abuja was derived, ensuring representativeness. Abuja was chosen for its diverse business environment and focus on sustainable development. The reliability coefficient score of the survey instrument was 0.86. Findings reveal that international accountants play a vital role in advancing sustainability initiatives through accurate sustainability reporting and enhanced environmental accountability. The study recommends incorporating sustainability topics into accounting education and fostering global collaborations to support sustainable business practices.
