Abstract: THE IMPACT OF TAX PLANNING FOR RETIREMENT SAVINGS AND INVESTMENTS
This study investigates the impact of tax planning on retirement savings and investments in Abuja. The objectives are to understand the role of tax planning in retirement savings, assess the challenges faced by individuals, and evaluate the benefits of effective tax planning. A survey design was used, with data collected from 300 individuals, derived using Taro Yamane's formula. A case study of a financial advisory firm in Abuja provided detailed insights. The reliability coefficient score was 0.83. Findings show that effective tax planning significantly enhances retirement savings, but challenges such as lack of knowledge and complex regulations persist. Recommendations include increasing public awareness about tax planning and simplifying tax laws to encourage better retirement savings.
