Abstract: THE IMPACT OF TAXATION OF FOREIGN INCOME AND OFFSHORE INVESTMENTS
This research explores the impact of taxation on foreign income and offshore investments in Uyo. The objectives are to analyze the effect of tax policies on offshore investments, assess compliance challenges, and examine strategies for effective tax planning. Using a survey design, data was collected from 150 investors, calculated using Taro Yamane's formula. A case study of a financial services firm in Uyo provided in-depth understanding. The reliability coefficient score was 0.86. Findings indicate that taxation of foreign income significantly affects investment decisions, with compliance challenges due to complex regulations. Recommendations include simplifying tax laws related to foreign income and providing more guidance for investors on compliance and tax planning.
