ABSTRACT
Tremendous effort was made in this work to synthesize the three isomeric 3- (dimethylphenyl)aminopropanamides through the Michael nucleophilic substitution reaction. However, some of the results obtained after spectroscopic analysis did not satisfactorily conform to the structure of the compounds, this was attributed perhaps to the lack of control of the experimental conditions, the methodology adopted or some instrumental constrains. The anticonvulsant screening of the hypothetical compounds was also carried out via the maximal electroshock (MES) and pentylenetetrazole seizure models.
