Background of the Study
Digital narratives have transformed the way language is used in contemporary communication, particularly in the realm of blogging. In Abuja, Nigerian bloggers are reshaping traditional morphological patterns by adopting innovative word formations, abbreviations, and hybrid constructions. These digital narratives, characterized by informal tone and rapid language evolution, reflect the interplay between modern technology and cultural expression (Olu, 2023). Blogs serve as a medium where users experiment with language to express personal and collective identities, often resulting in morphological innovations that diverge from established norms. This study investigates how digital narratives in Abuja influence Nigerian morphology by analyzing blog content. It explores patterns of affixation, compounding, and lexical creativity, and considers the role of digital interactivity in facilitating language change (Nwosu, 2024). The research aims to provide a comprehensive account of how digital environments foster morphological evolution and the implications of these changes for language standardization and cultural continuity (Ifeanyi, 2025).
Statement of the Problem
Although digital narratives are a significant force in language evolution, research on their effect on Nigerian morphology is limited. Existing studies often emphasize content and stylistic aspects, while the structural changes in word formation remain underexplored (Olu, 2023). This gap restricts our understanding of how digital platforms contribute to morphological innovation and the potential impact on formal language use. The rapid evolution of blog language in Abuja presents both opportunities and challenges for language preservation. Without systematic analysis, it is difficult to gauge whether these digital trends will lead to long-term changes in linguistic standards. This study aims to address this gap by examining morphological modifications in Abuja’s blog language, providing empirical evidence of digital influence on morphology (Nwosu, 2024).

Research Questions
Significance of the Study
This study is significant as it investigates the transformative effects of digital narratives on Nigerian morphology, offering insights into language evolution in the digital age. The findings will benefit linguists, educators, and policymakers by informing language preservation and adaptation strategies (Olu, 2023; Ifeanyi, 2025).
Scope and Limitations of the Study
This study is limited to analyzing morphological structures in blog language from Abuja and does not extend to other digital media forms.
